Seahaven FM

Seahaven FM is a community radio station which was set up in early 2008 to provide "Genuinely Local Radio" to the communities in the area in East Sussex known as Seahaven.
Seahaven FM was one of the (48 stations ) in the South East region of the UK that applied to Ofcom in November 2008 〔(Ofcom )〕 for a full-time community radio 〔(Community Radio )〕 licence in the second round of applications. The station was successfully awarded the community radio licence, it was announced on its Internet broadcasts at 09:09 on the 09/09/09. It took a further 16 months to complete the legal and practical work in order to launch the station full-time on FM. The station started broadcasting on 96.3 FM on 9 January at 12:00 noon and the full-time schedule from 7am on Monday 10 January 2011.
The station started broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the website on 1 Feb 2008 and completed two short-term Restricted Service Licence (RSL)〔(Restricted Service Licence (RSL) )〕 broadcasts in 2008 and provided facilities for two RSL broadcasts by other groups.
Seahaven FM is the third of four community radio stations that were awarded licences in East Sussex in the second round of Ofcom's distribution of community licences, the others being 107 Meridian FM (launched March 2010), Uckfield FM (Launched July 2010) and Rye FM which hoped to launch in late 2011 but decided not to go ahead. Radio Reverb in Brighton is also a community radio station and was one of the first stations of its kind in the UK.
Norman Baker, a local politician, is one of the presenters.〔http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29895431〕
